Over the summers I've worked at VICE, I've been able to put into practice the things I've learned in engineering, which has been super fulfilling. It's also been a great benchmark to see how the skills I've learned have made me more valuable to Dustin after each semester. For example, my first summer, he taught me the basics of CAD design, and the concept of a "sketch" and "extrude", which I had never heard of. By the next summer, I'd earned my CSWA for SolidWorks and was learning how to translate those skills to Fusion360.

Being a part of the entrepreneurial side of the business has also been really fun for me. Because I was Dustin's sole employee for a while, I had the chance to work on a lot of things that other people my age don't necessarily get to be a part of in a business. Some of these include: testing the first prototype model, making design changes, writing assembly instructions, fabricating, ordering parts, web design, shooting/editing videos, and marketing to customers in person.
